Department of Forest Resource Management
We are looking for a person who have comprehensive experience of forest and climate polices.
About the position
The Department of Forest Resource Management is looking for a Senior Researcher to fill a position that will focus on forest-related EU LULUCF, forest and climate policies, with a specific focus on LULUCF. The candidate will mainly work with research related to policy questions of LULUCF in the Swedish and EU level perspective. The position will start with a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewing the appointment.
Your profile
You should have a background as a researcher with experience within the field of forest and climate polices and especially regarding EU LULUCF policy framework. You should also have:
• long-term experience regarding the EU LULUCF policy framework, as well as extensive experience writing and publishing high-impact articles on EU forest and climate policy
• knowledge of forestry and LULUCF practices in multiple EU Member states.
• excellent organizational and collaborative team-working skills. This document by experience with organizing conference events, such as side events at the annual UNFCCC meetings of the Conference of the Parties (COPs), is a merit.
Being able to communicate in multiple European languages in addition to English is meritorious.
About us
The Department of Forest Resource Management conducts education and research in the areas of forest planning, forest remote sensing, forest inventory and sampling, forest mathematical statistics and landscape studies. The department is also responsible for the implementation of the ongoing environmental monitoring programs the National Forest Inventory, National Inventory of the Landscape in Sweden, Terrestrial Habitat Monitoring and the Butterfly and Bumblebee Inventory.
