Senior Researcher

We are looking for a senior researcher within the field of wireless communication, for 5G and beyond.
You will be part of one of our research teams, responsible for generating and evaluating innovative ideas for 5G and next-generation radio networks and associated technologies and solutions.


The team addresses 5G standardization and is responsible for creating and driving Intellectual Property Rights and standardization proposals. The team is also communicating standardization activities and trends to other R&D teams and helps coordinate relevant research and development activities.


Our research team cooperates with external partners so in this position you will explore and setup University cooperation’s across Europe for emerging research concepts with potential for future radio access technologies.


Qualifications & experience
A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Communications Systems or similar education is required.
Should be familiar with 3GPP standards and its evolutions, and 5G New Radio air interface.
Up-to-date knowledge about new research trends in academia.
Ph.D. within wireless communications with focus on physical layer aspects is preferred.
An extensive academic network within the EU is a significant plus.
A background of innovation and IPR in wireless standards is a significant plus.
Experience in setting up University cooperation's or EU projects is a plus.

Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
Good social skills with the ability to build networks.

This is a full-time consultancy position at the Huawei R&D office in Lund, Sweden.
