We are looking for a researcher working with concept development and potentially as a delegate within 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) standardization.
The most successful candidate has previous experience in 3GPP standardization and competence in one or more layers of the radio interface and the RAN architecture. The mission will be to drive the evolution of the 3GPP standards as a member of a feature team and to work as a 3GPP delegate. This includes driving studies and developing new concepts that will be presented and argued for during the 3GPP meetings to drive Ericsson’s aspects and strategies of the standard development for both existing and future telecom technologies.
In our unit at Ericsson, we have the mission to bring product awareness when we develop and drive outstanding procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future wireless systems. The section you will be part of has delegates represented in all RAN working groups and is staffing feature teams in a variety of WI/SI areas within 3GPP. We are a diverse group of open-minded people positioned both within and outside of Sweden with the majority positioned in Stockholm/Kista and Linköping.
As a researcher you will strengthen our efforts in concept development and standardization of 5G and 6G networks. In these efforts, we work together in diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for future mobile networks used by billions of people worldwide.
As a Researcher in 5G and 6G standardization, you will join an international team of elite researchers with different backgrounds and experiences, including some of the key authorities and technology leaders in mobile communication.

What you will do
Give to the global standardization in 3GPP, either as a delegate attending the standardization meetings, and/or as part of the feature team inventing new concepts.
Write contributions to the standards and protect your ideas in patents.
Invent solutions for 5G and 6G radio networks and be involved in evaluating their performance using pioneering prototypes or radio network system simulators.

MSc or PhD degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, computer science or related fields.
Experience from standardization, especially in 3GPP is highly appreciated.
