Job ID: 8531
Would you like to be part of ensuring that Nordea is being data driven in sanctions compliance? We are now looking for a Senior Data Steward to ensure the data used for sanctions screening is well governed and allows our controls to perform at their best.
At Nordea, we’re committed to being a partner our customers and society can count on. Compliance and integrity go hand in hand. Joining us means you’ll have an impact on how we do banking – today and tomorrow. So bring your ideas, skills and unique background. With us, you’ll be in good company with plenty of opportunities to collaborate, grow and make your mark on something bigger.
About this opportunity
Welcome to the Sanctions Data function within the Sanctions Data & Analytics team. We add value by ensuring that the data for managing sanctions risk is well governed and can be reliably used for sanctions screening and other risk management processes, while also providing insights and analyses to support further improvements to our sanctions capabilities and data usage. As the Senior Data Steward, you’ll play a valuable role in ensuring the data used for these important processes is well understood and in the best possible shape.
What you’ll be doing:
* Identification and documentation of critical data elements relevant to sanctions, following the Nordea standard Data Governance Framework.
* Defining, implementing and managing data quality measures to secure proactive management of data quality in screening.
* Driving the mapping and documentation of data lineage to ensure control of how the data is flowing through systems.
* Producing analyses and insights on the data as part of projects to ensure change impacts are understood and managed.
* Acting as a subject matter expert on sanctions data to support team members and projects as relevant.
* Interacting closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the bank, to achieve improvements to the data and increase our common understanding of dependencies and collaboration opportunities.
You’ll join a team of data-minded colleagues who leverage the unique skills and knowledge of each team member to increase the collective understanding of a complex data environment. The role is based in any of the Nordic countries or Estonia.
Who you are
Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.
To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
* Have strong analytical skills and a curious mindset to proactively identify important details in data and turn it into actionable insight.
Thrive in a dynamic environment where the only constant is change, learning and adapting to a complex data and IT landscape that connects across most parts of Nordea.
Are structured, result-oriented and set a good example for others. You enjoy and have experience building strong stakeholder relationships to support your work.
Your experience and background:
* Experience in the Financial or IT/Technology industries and familiarity with common banking industry concepts and processes, experience involving customers or transactions considered a particular advantage.
* Experience working with SQL and databases, understanding of ETL processes, data warehouses and/or data architecture considered an advantage.
* Advanced English, spoken and written communication in a very international and diverse team environment.
* A subject-relevant degree or equivalent work experience.
* Familiarity with data governance and data concepts such as data quality measurement is a strong advantage.
* Knowledge of sanctions compliance/financial crime prevention is a strong advantage.
