We are currently looking for a senior scientist to the section for Analytical Technologies within the Resin & Ligand Design department at Cytiva R&D in Uppsala, Sweden. The mission of the section is to support the department and other parts of the company with expertise and technologies regarding analysis of resins, product intermediates, raw material and other substances related to the production of the chromatographic process from start to finish.
What You'll Do
This position is focused on GC, GC-MS, LC and LC-MS. The main task will be to perform analytical experiments and method development of qualitative and quantitative methods for e.g. solvents, reagent residues and by-products and also method validation, sometimes including transfer to QC, using the above-mentioned techniques.
In this role you will perform assignments analysis for other departments within the company and take part in projects for new products. This includes planning, performing, analyzing and reporting the studies. Reporting includes technical reports and presentations.
You will also supervise colleagues in analytical method development and other experimental work, follow the scientific area, implement, and develop new separation techniques (or methods) to improve the analytical capability for small substances that can be identified in our products. You will also be responsible for maintenance and service of instruments that are used.
Who you are
PhD in analytical chemistry with a focus on GC, GC-MS and/or LC and LC-MS
Advanced experience from practical laboratory work
More than 10 years of experience of industrial development/R&D or scientific recognition
Experience of method development according to ICH guidelines and good knowledge in statistical methods and design of experiments
Experience from supervising personnel
Experience in project leading roles
Be able to work independently, alone as well as with others as team player
Excellent communication skills in English and/or Swedish
