Senior Scientist – Bioactive Research
Place: R&D HQ Gothenburg, Sweden
We have an opening in our Bioactive Research team, with focus to secure research and early development within the area of bioactive research. This team is part of the Technology Platforms & Research Wound Care organisation within R&D. Our team works cross-functionally with e.g. our other teams within the Platforms & Research organization, our categories as well as the Laboratory organization to mention a few.
As a Senior Scientist in the Bioactive Research team you will be a key person to lead the exploration and development of new and/or improved active/healing & antimicrobial materials and concepts to meet customer needs. You will also provide scientific preclinical understanding and evidence to support Technology platform activities and create and maintain a scientific network to be in the scientific forefront in wound care.
Key Accountabilities
Continuously search for and propose new conceptual product solutions to meet customer needs.
Lead or participate in identified Technology Platform projects and provide results within the wound healing / microbiology / antimicrobial area as defined by the project plan to reach the project objectives to develop new and/or improved concepts and products.
Initiate contacts and co-operation with external institutes, universities, suppliers etc. to find new and improved solutions to customer needs.
Continuously acquire knowledge in the area of wound microbiology / healing in the scientific literature on substances and materials as well as competitor products to improve solutions to meet customer needs, to identify new trends and opportunities and to match with business requirements.
Build an international external network and represent Mölnlycke and conduct research collaborations with academia and industry.
Lead development and/or search for new in vitro and in vivo models to measure or demonstrate product and material performance.

Your Qualifications
Academic background in engineering or life science (PhD, Master Degree) or corresponding experience.
Minimum of 8 years experience within Medical device/Pharma or similar fields
Project management experience is considered a merit
Knowledge in wound biology & microbiology
Scientific and business mindset with experience of preclinical method development and implementation
Good communication skills and happy to work in a dynamic team
Performance driven and customer focused
