We are looking for a person that have a solid understanding of degradation chemistry that can be applied to work with the Regulatory, Legal and Toxicology teams for compliance with various requirements, such as compendial and ICH requirements.
Senior Scientist, Method Development and Advanced Chemistry
The Senior Scientist within the Strategic Initiatives and Operations group, will have expertise in all analytical testing from drug substance to finished product. They will be a key team member on global activities related to the development of analytical methods with complex formulations and multiple active pharmaceutical ingredients, will contribute to investigations for global finished products, and will have deep understanding of literature research along with analytical instrumentation. They will also support the R&D Analytical group in cross-functional teams with responsibility for technical feedback to drive science based and efficient resolutions for product investigations and global compliance projects.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant analytical chemistry experience OR a Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR a Ph.D. is preferred.
Applied experience with analytical techniques used in a broad range of testing is required. It is preferred that this candidate have applied experience with instrumental and synthetic chemistry including rudimentary synthesis of degradation products, HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, NMR and other chemical analyses.
Analytical experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Familiarity with applicable GxP is required.
Familiarity with ICH and compendia (including EP) is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills as well as technical writing skills are required.
In depth knowledge of ICH guidelines is preferred.
Ability to balance multiple, contending priorities to creatively accomplish technical tasks is required.
Travel of up to 10% may be required
