Product and Process Development (PPD) is a global function in Pfizer Global Manufacturing (PGM) responsible for the development of new products together with Pfizer Global Research & Development (PGRD) and to provide technical expertise within PGM. PPD Stockholm consists of three groups, Device Technology, Cartridge Technology and Sterile & Aseptic Technology. As part of the ongoing development of PPD, we seek a Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist to participate in co-development of sterile products with focus on biotechnology products. Co-Development is the process by which WWPS and PGM jointly develop, scale-up, and commercialize new products. You will also provide technical support to PGM and contract manufacturers. Depending on the projects the position may require travel, possibly up to 20%. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Sterile & Aseptic Technology. The position is temporarily located in Stockholm until the PPDS site in Strängnäs has been constructed. The transfer to Strängnäs is expected to take place in approximately 1-1,5 years. Your role will be to - participate in the co-development of new products together with PGRD with a strong focus on biotechnology products. - provide the co-development teams with technical input related to the implementation of commercial manufacture of pharmaceutical products. - Work with PGM site or contract manufacturers to define the manufacturing process, facility layout, product flow and test equipment for new and existing products. - Provide input and feedback on packaging concepts and equipment for new drug delivery systems. - Ensure that project deliverables meet their quality, safety, and functional goals, and satisfy the customer needs. - Participate in product requirements definitions, design reviews and risk assessments. - Generate documentation to support regulatory filing and compliance. - Provide technical support to Pfizer manufacturing groups as required. Key skills and competencies: - An ability to work independently as well as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in Swedish and English You have a Masters degree in a scientific discipline, engineering, or pharmacy and preferably a Ph.D. You have gained 5-10 years' experience within the pharmaceutical industry. You have expert knowledge in manufacturing of sterile products, preparation of CMC documentation as well as thorough knowledge of cGMPS and guidelines.
