Senior scientist with expertise in host-microbe interactions

Responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for preclinical in vitro studies to document effects of probiotic strains on host cells. Your responsibility include the scientific content of the projects, setting up assays and performing the research. You will also contribute with your expertise in host-microbe interactions to the design and interpretation of other preclinical and clinical research projects at Probi. You will be located at Probi headquarters, Ideon Science Park in Lund.



Background You have a PhD in microbiology and a deep understanding in cell biology, immunology and related disciplines. You have at least 10 years of research experience in the field of probiotics, including at least 3 years of postdoc-experience, focusing on host/intestinal microbe interaction studies. You have extensive experience of in vitro characterization of probiotic strains in primary cell cultures and mammalian cell lines and of preclinical disease models. In addition, you have designed and managed clinical trials focused on microbiome research and have practical experience and advanced bioinformatics skills for Next Generation microbiota analysis. You are a good presenter, you have been part of international collaborations and have experience from collaborating with the industry and regulatory authorities. You have a strong publication record and master English fluently, both orally and in writing.

Personality You have a strong personal drive and can independently and efficiently manage your projects, while being collaborative and enjoy working in a team. You are careful, focused and detailed in your work.
