Senior Server Virtualization Engineer to Scania IT

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from being a traditional truck manufacturer to becoming a provider of complete transport solutions. Our success requires smart IT solutions due to all the digitization taking place. As a result, Scania IT will be an important player in this change process. We are now looking for a senior Server Virtualization Engineer with significant interest in smart infrastructure solutions and agile working methods.


Your tasks
You will have responsibility for services and components within the Server Virtualization area with focus on VMware platform, but not only and will drive the development and implementation of technical roadmaps and quality of delivery for those services. In this work you will be supported by a team of Server Technicians, a Service Owner and a Group Manager.
You will be placed in a challenging environment with opportunities for development within leadership and technology.

You work amongst other will cover:

Act as technical lead for developing and maintaining the services within the area
Interact with other technical lead engineers interfacing the server virtualization area , like storage and network.
Take part in design and implementation projects
Secure quality of services and deliveries
Incident management support as third line technical specialist
You will have a global technical responsibility which means interacting with other countries where Scania has big presence
Take part in VW group initiatives and cooperation as Scania’s technical lead within the area

 
Your profile


You have a relevant academic education or equivalent work experience in the area of work in large/enterprise environments
You have a deep knowledge and interest in server virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V), Storage, LAN and data centre architecture and technology
You are structured, customer oriented with good communication skills, proactive, take initiative and ownership, and have the drive to move our services forward
You feel comfortable working in cross functional teams and learning from each other
You will be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English
