We are now looking for a Service Designer at the Innovation Lab, who will help us understand customers and users, and design their experience from using our services. You will work in the Business Innovation & Foresight team together with other Service Designers, Innovation Managers, our Foresight Manager, as well as with our tech team and partners.
The role
As a service designer at the Innovation Lab, you empathize with customers to identify and understand their problems and pain points, uncover customer and business needs, and take a holistic approach so that the novel service experience and all its touch points are designed with the users and other stakeholders at the center.
You will:
Conduct customer research and dialogs
Make competitive assessments and market research
Design service experiences
Evaluate and collect feedback for iterative design
Communicate your work to technical teams
Participate in rapid prototyping and pilots of design concepts together with customers
Mentor and lead colleagues
Your profile
You should have proven experience from:
Customer domains related to the Volvo Group business as logistics, construction, mining, or public transport
The aspects of building new digital businesses, including strategy, go-to-market plans, and technologies
Understanding of methods such as business model design, design thinking, business strategy and lean start-up methodology
Designing services in a business-to-business context and understand their business models and challenges
Creating, expressing, and presenting visual design concepts
On the personal side, you should:
Be a team player
Have an entrepreneurial mindset
Get things done with humility, integrity, and creativity
Like to work in a fast paced, multicultural, and diverse environment
Network, communicate, lead workshops, and present with ease
Take responsibility for the quality of what we deliver together
Have humor, because in the end, working here should be fun!
You are a talented service designer, user experience or interaction designer, art or creative director, marketer, or service researcher who wants to push the boundaries in the design of services and solutions for Volvo’s brands and new ventures. You have a master’s degree or equivalent as the basis for your career, and you are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit.
You must have a valid work permit for Sweden.
We expect at least three years of experience in similar roles.
