About us
The Agile Release Train (ART) Electrical Infrastructure, responsible for the entire vehicle electrical system, is looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer, focusing on simulations withing the CAE Electromagnetics area.
Electrical Infrastructure is a part of the unit Software & Electronics Platform (SWEP) within Volvo Cars’ R&D organisation.

The CAE Methods & Simulation team is a cross functional agile team, with simulation engineers covering areas such as EMC, data communication, antennas, and circuit simulations. The team develops simulation methods used to support the company’s vehicle programmes during the development phase, and also performs analysis work. 

What will you do?
You will develop methods for electromagnetic simulations for future and currently used technologies within Volvo Cars R&D. You have degrees of freedom to form your deliveries and to develop your own skills, both technically as well as in the area of leadership. The electromagnetic simulation area is a strategic competence area at Volvo Cars, currently expanding significantly, and you will be a key figure in defining the future scope and deliveries from the team. 

You and your skills
We believe you are a self-starting, result-oriented person who is structured and meticulous, with strong documentation skills, and having the ability to coach and guide new team members in a continuously changing context. Since you will be interfacing with many cross functional teams, you need to be communicative and a strong relationship builder. 

To be successful in this position, we believe you currently work as a simulation engineer within the electromagnetic domain, and that you have at least 5 years of experience within this area. PhD or MSc in physics, electronics or equivalent. You have a strong theoretical background in computational electromagnetics. Extensive experience of working with simulation software within the electromagnetic domain (e.g. CST, COMSOL, HFSS, FEKO). Advanced programming skills (e.g. Python, C++). Very good skills within Antenna design and RF/Microwave technology. Experience from Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in product development is an advantage.
