Process Industries/Pulp&Paper is a unit within Process Automation. Our team represents the ABB portfolio for Quality Management Systems and Advanced Process Controls. We are the global market leader in online quality measurements, system solutions and advanced services for the Pulp and Paper industry. Our customers are Pulp&Paper mills and biorefining plants primarily in Scandinavia but also outside, and our mission is to help them optimize the quality of their products while preserving energy and raw materials.
Our unit consists of about 80 people, where Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Maintenance and R&D all sit under one roof. As Senior Software Developer, you will be part of our skilled R&D team, where you will get the opportunity to be an active part of our product development life cycle, from idea to launch.
In this role, you will work closely with other developers as well as neighbouring disciplines such as Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Designers and Sensor Specialists. You will participate in the development of new products, where you will have a leading role in shaping the software architecture and implementation. Part of the work also consists in refining and further improving our existing products by addressing bugs and adding new features.
This position reports to R&D Team Lead.
Your responsibilities
Full-stack application development in C++ and C
Lead the software development tasks in assigned projects
Improve our existing products or solutions by addressing bugs and adding new features
Lead or participate in requirements refinement
Interact with neighbouring disciplines within mechanical, electronics and sensor technology
Your background
A MSc degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or similar, alternatively a BSc in a similar field with a few more years of working experience
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in software development, preferably in C or C++
Experience of BSD, Linux and QT:s libraries
Git knowledge
Experience of leading roles, either technical or managerial, such as Technical Lead or Scrum Master are meritorious
You enjoy taking on interesting challenges where the solution is not yet known, finding your way together with others
Fluency in English is a must and Swedish is qualifying
