About the position

As a software engineer in the software team in Mullsjö you will be a part of a creative and highly skilled team of software engineers specialized in embedded software for the automotive industry. The tech center designs future automatic shifters and actuators including control modules among other new exciting electromechanical products. Software is a vital part in our products with focus on controlling the mechatronics.

The engineering team belonging to Powertrain & Chassis business unit consist of roughly 65 engineers in different teams having full development in house at Kongsberg Automotive AB. The engineers belong to a variety of engineering disciplines such as mechanical design, electronics, software, systems engineering, and full validation of the product.

Main objectives

As a Senior Software Engineer you will analyze customer requests and requirements, define software architecture, design and implement embedded software. Your work experience and knowledge in embedded systems enhances the team and gives direction to the projects and guidance to the other team members. You will also participate in the planning and definition of functional tests in order to qualify the software as well as preparing appropriate product documentation.

Requirements

The one we are looking for is an experienced engineer with a specialization in computer science, embedded systems, electronics or equivalent. You have documented experience of software development in an embedded environment and fully master C programming. As a person, you feel comfortable taking initiative and acting with confidence. We are looking for someone who focuses on customer needs and sets high standards for quality. It is important that you have good cooperation skills and are responsive to your coworkers. The work requires that you are analytical, thorough and structured, and that you can express yourself unhindered in English, both in speech and writing.

You have:
.Bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering or similar.
.5 or more years of experience in software development for embedded systems.
.Automotive experience is merited.
.Experience of safety critical software is merited.
