Switches & WPC – C++ developer with focus on embedded SW
Our Switches & WPC teams are working with SW, HW, electronics and system, and the responsibilities stretches from early phases until launch of new cars. We develop customer functionality, handle project management, analysis, verification, hardware and software. We are part of an agile product development organization with SAFe as a way of working, and we aim for competent and curious team members with end-to-end responsibility.

What you will do
We are looking for a sharp SW developer with solid experience of C++ to join us. You will mainly focus on developing HAL (high abstraction layer), interfaces and applications in Volvo core system in C++. You will be responsible for integration SW to Volvo platform and verify it by testing SW (gtest) based on Volvo agreed test strategy.
Your purpose is, together with your colleagues in your agile teams and the product owner, to provide stepwise (business) value. We expect you to be on top of technology evolution and to continuously improve the product and our processes. Investigate and solve software problems that are close to the hardware, and work to optimize our products performance. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, and your focus is on software development and making sure our customers get the best possible products regards to functionality and quality.

Responsible for
• Responsible for developing/modelling and maintaining Device Proxy, HAL and SW applications 
• Deliver Software to project and project execution according to Volvo product development system
• Planning of SW development and delivery timing
• Implementation of SW requirements in project
• Define and maintain SW time plan
• Define and maintain node Function Implementation Plan (FIP)
• Input items to in-house SW product backlog
• Manage software configurations and hardware dependencies
• Collaborate with Function owner and System Engineer, so the SW reflects the vision of the product

Requirements
• BSc degree or higher in Software- and/or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Solid C++ development experience
• GIT/Gerrit
• Google Test
• Linux
• Agile framework/SAFe method - understanding or certification
• Diagnostic and data analytics – automotive preferably
• Experience in debugging low level platform problems

Meritorious
• Knowledge/experience within Device Proxy, HAL and SW applications
• Experience in Continuous Integration with tools such as GIT/Gerrit
• Test methodologies (System, Integration and Component testing)
• Embedded development
• Car weaver (or equivalent requirement handling system)
• Elektra (or equivalent signal base system)
• SWRS
