Senior Software Engineer

Job description
This position provides you with opportunities to contribute to the definition and development of next-generation software platform, encompassing software architecture and design. You will be a key player in developing software-defined transport solutions to enable the shift from product-oriented mindset to service-oriented mindset.

You will perform technology development and integration in the context of our future electrical and/or electronic (E/E) systems. You will work with development of concepts and technologies, demonstrations of proof-of-concepts, evaluation of technologies, and design of emedded software and systems.

Since we cover the full spectrum of development, you have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities ranging from applied research and advanced engineering projects to prototype demonstration in a targeted environment for our future products and services.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying trends, following technology state-of-the art and providing input to the creation of technology roadmaps; identifying key technical issues and proposing cutting edge solutions for implementation; taking lead for technology development assignments; managing projects to the completion. This variation in responsibilities requires an open mind to new technologies, concepts and challenges.

Required qualifications
MSc Degree in Computer Sciene/Electrical Engineering or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
Experience in software architecture and design, including software development in C/C++
Experience from working with embedded systems
Very good verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to communicate effectively and to establish as well as maintain networks within and outside the company in a global multi-cultural environment.

Meriting qualifications
It is considered an advantage to have one or more of the following:
PhD Degree within our technology areas
Experience from working with software engineering and architecture from industrial domains such as telecommunications, avionics and automotive industry
Experience in leading technical team within our technology areas
Experience in embedded Linux programming
Knowledge about safety-relevant and fault-tolerant system and software design
Knowledge about cybersecurity
Knowledge about agile development principles and methodologies
