Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
Our group is a part of Sales & Service IT delivery and supporting the areas for Warranty and Parts Pricing. We are today 12 people in the group and will now expand with a senior software engineer. The team works with scrum as the agile tool with three weeks sprints, demos and retros. To succeed in this role, you are a driven person who takes responsibility for the deliveries.
In line with our strategy at Scania we have started our journey towards modern technology such as AWS and microservice architecture. We have recently started a project to replace our current Oracle-based system for warranty claims with a new solution built in Java. You will be an important part of this work and will bring important knowledge to our team.
Your responsibilities
You will be a part of our DevOps team in Södertälje. We also have parts of the DevOps team distributed in both Russia and India. The team works tightly with our business representatives.
Your responsibilities will be:
• Together with the other senior developers set the microservice architecture in AWS.
• Design, develop and implement the new solution as well as test and evaluate according to business requirements.
Your profile
We believe that you are a senior developer with:
• Deep knowledge and experience in AWS
• Well-documented experience from Java, Angular & MySQL
• Good understanding of different configuration management tools, branching and merging concepts (plus for Gitlab).
• Full stack experience it is a plus, but focus is on back-end development.
• Experience of migrating a monolithic system to a microservice cloud environment.
• Communicative skills and likes to share your knowledge and teach others.
• Experiences that enable you to take technical lead in our joint mission to succeed with the challenges ahead.
