About the job
Our first Gigafactory, Northvolt Ett, sets a global example for digitalization of manufacturing with its digital technology strategy, usually referred to as next-gen connected factory or Industry 4.0.
Our AWS cloud ingests data from numerous factory floor sensors, embedded software and edge computers. The collected data is used in our Northcloud application suite to allow highly automated production as well as better decision making. Examples of applications include detailed product traceability, near real-time monitoring of manufacturing effectiveness, computer vision powered defect detection and machine learning prediction of battery cell performance.
We are using Amazon Web Services for modern cloud capabilities and have designed a modular digital blueprint strategy to deploy and run our applications effectively. Read more about our strategy in the blog post at https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/industries/northvolts-next-gen-connected-factory-a-digital-blueprint-factory-built-from-scratch/
Our digital technology strategy presents us with unique and interesting challenges, disrupting the traditional ways of working in manufacturing. One big topic right now is scaling our applications to cover our upcoming factories in Poland, Germany, Gothenburg and Borlänge.
