One of Business Tech newest product teams, Airlift within Product Checkout, is looking for a new team member. The team looks for a senior back-end lead engineer that supports and technically drives our development efforts of our checkout ecosystem for physical store. What we envision is an all-round engineer with exceptional skills on engineering C#/.NET applications on Azure cloud, including code architecture, best practice coding and reviewing skills.

Job Description


You will work in a newly built team close with other teams to create the future of retail checkout! You will be part of building the future for this product and team with the responsibility for creating and designing solutions that fulfil our customers' shopping experience. Furthermore, you will:
• Work with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Translate product strategy and requirement into suitable, maintainable, and scalable solution design
• Collaborate closely with product owner, team members and other cross-functional teams, share best practice as well as discuss and motivate design solutions
• Drive the development of sales engine/orchestration layer
• Define a suitable architecture, both high level and code base
• Design/architect, writing, testing and reviewing code, mainly C#
• Design APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger, and implementing them on back-end and client-side
• Work with data modelling of API request/response as well as DB models
As a team we are building new services that we own and run. We are fully responsible for the whole development cycle, design, build, test, deploy, evaluate, and repeat. The mindset “You build it – you run it “are key for us. We are measured on business outcome, not code merge or defects.
We are looking for you who are a true team player, have an open mindset and have a large willingness to contribute and can think outside the box. Other important personal skills needed in this role is to keep it simple, to be humble and open to new ideas and like to contribute to discussions.


Qualifications


We believe that you have:
• 5 years of relevant experience
• High skills in C#/.NET with experience of DB design (document & relational)
• Experience of REST API's including API security
• Experience of architectural design, Queues and events
• Experience of Azure dev-ops, release pipelines and containerization (mainly Docker & Kubernetes)
• Experienced in tools as JIRA and Confluence
• Have a – “you build it you run it” mindset – with hands-on experience of DevOps or equivalent for source code control (preferable Azure)
• Have a strong track record of deliveries and an agile/iterative mindset
• Have strong developer skills coupled with an understanding of business language
• Have an open minded and thrives in agile teams
• Have good knowledge, both written and oral, in English
Nice to have:
• Experience working with POS systems and physical checkout
• Experience with digital checkout
