Job Description
You will be part of a company-wide project with the strategic goal to make the software development at Bosch fit for the future by facilitating cloud-based development and enabling modern tools, architectures, and frameworks. Major architectural principles for this project include e.g. modularity and API first, open standard and company-internal open source, as well as user-centric design.
Your key tasks will be to design, develop, test and operate the next generation metering component for a tool marketplace. This means for example to iteratively optimize our cloud micro-services with particular focus on high throughput, horizontal scalability and readiness for sporadic workload.
In addition to this, you will participate in the decision making for the whole solution by contributing in the cross-functional DevOps team consisting of software engineers, architects, stakeholders and UX researchers.
In this project, you will work with modern cloud technologies e.g. MS Azure, DataDog, Grafana, InfluxDB. The project gives you freedom to decide which hardware and local tools you use.
Qualifications
The candidate we are looking for has a background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or relevant fields and brings 3+ years of experience in modern software engineering. During your professional career, you have acquired the ability to write solid production ready code. You feel at home with Unix based systems and can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of at least one of these programming languages: Go, Java, Scala. You are familiar with the essentials of system design so you can contribute in architectural discussions of the overall project.
Ideally, your professional career includes a modern DevOps team and has brought you in contact with modern cloud infrastructure technology components such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with cloud monitoring components, e.g. DataDog, Grafana, is beneficial.
As a person, you are reliable and willing to take responsibility. You have a quality oriented mentality and are eager to learn new technologies. While you love to solve problems independently, you also happily share your learnings with your colleagues and assist them with your experience. You think outside the box and contribute to technology levels below and above your own responsibility where appropriate. An intrinsic motivation for overall efficiency drives your actions and decisions.
Since you will be part of an international team, it is important that you have good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
