About the Team
The Infra & SRE team works with Platform Engineering at Storytel. We apply software engineering principles to accelerate software delivery and ensure that application development teams are productive in all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle.

We aim to design and build toolchains and workflows covering the operational necessities of the entire lifecycle of an application and to enable that as self-service for our teams.

This means providing golden paths and paved roads that make it easy for our application developers to focus on building a great experience for our users. We support the teams in making the most of our platform’s capabilities and in providing best-practices knowledge.

Our team’s expertise is very diverse, varying from cloud infrastructure, through security, to development tools, and more.



About the Role
Take the next step in your career as a Senior Software Engineer at Storytel! At Storytel, engineers are viewed as leaders within the Individual Contributor roles, aiming to create impact and drive initiatives to bring our audio entertainment service to millions of users.

You will work with cutting-edge technologies alongside experienced colleagues. You will design, build and maintain toolchains and workflows that help our teams manage the full life-cycle of their systems. This includes, among other things building libraries, templates, automation, and configurations.

You will also aid developers in their daily work on how they best utilize the tools provided by the team, as well as support and unblock them when they experience issues with the platform.

You will work with different technologies, including ArgoCD, CircleCI, Grafana, Prometheus, Kubernetes, GCP, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Service Mesh (Linkerd), Cloudflare, and more.

The main languages you will use are Java and Go.


To be successful in this role, we believe that you have

- At least 6 years of experience as a software developer. You are experienced in developing in Java or Go

- Experience and a keen interest in working with developer enablement. For example, Deployment pipelines, Observability & Monitoring, Quality Assurance, Automation, Self-service, and the like

- At least 2 years of experience working with container technologies, Kubernetes, and distributed systems

- Experience working with cloud services - Google Cloud Platform, Azure or AWS

- An ability to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken)

And for some bonus points, you have experience or a keen interest in:

- Developer Experience and Platform Engineering

- DORA metrics

- Working with Databases - MySQL, Postgres, etc.

- Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management
