What’s in it for you?
Within ART Deceleration & Steering we develop Brake and Steering systems to provide the best customer user experience in our future vehicles and continuously improve current models. ART Deceleration & Steering consists of 3 groups: SW & Control, Brake SW & Mechatronics, and Brake & Steering HW.
We are now looking for a dedicated colleague to strengthen our Steering Gear Software Team both in the concept and industrialization phase.
What will you do?
The purpose of Team Steering Gear Software is to together with the Steering Gear HW team create the next generation of Steering Gears as well as improve the current solution. The team also handles quality issues, running changes, and model year updates. Everything is in close collaboration with our suppliers. The team's responsibility ranges from the concept phase with setting of specifications to securing high-quality industrialization to maintaining the current solutions. Focusing on Safety, Quality, and Cost.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Develop and continuously improve the quality of the architecture for the steering system according to VCC procedures,
• Follow the technical/logical Plan for the competence area,
• Together with system architects and attribute team draw up specifications and requirements for the component and communicate them to potential suppliers with proper documentation,
• Work in close collaboration with attribute leaders (safety, vehicle dynamics, etc.), manufacturing, EMC, External Suppliers etc,
• Define test plans and review test results,
• Attend and support team ceremonies,
• Ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you have an M.Sc. in Controls and Mechatronics, Electronical or Computer Science Engineering, or relevant degrees. We also believe you have a passion for SW with several years of hands-on experience in SW development. You need to be fluent in English (spoken and written) and have a driving license (B) and drives on a regular basis. We are looking for a new team member who has more than 3 years of hands-on experience in the following engineering documentation (Requirements), SW Quality Assurance, Project Management, Supplier Management, EMC, Motor control system/ECU development, PCB Schematics and layout incl testing and design verification, Worst case circuit analysis and FMEA. It is an advantage if you are also self-organizing and have full knowledge and ability to work independently in Volvo Cars’ Product Development Processes, Systems, and Tools and according to VCC agile way of working.
