We seek an Senior Sourcing Manager to join our team and to take on the purchasing lead for the strategically important category Automotive fluids.

The segment is undergoing an organizational change and will be moved from General Purchasing to Automotive purchasing and a big part of your initial task will be to drive the transition of the segment. You will play an important role in the alignment, implementation and adaption into a new organisation and processes of Automotive Purchasing.

Role description / Your duties

Scania’s own branded oil has a major contribution to Scania’s overall profit and is today distributed to more than 80 countries with an annual revenue for Scania’s dealers on 0,4B€. Adding the Traton volume total category spend is 125 M€, which is currently purchase from a few chosen global suppliers. In 2017 the category automotive oils was approved as a strategic purchase category (SKM) for Traton, in order to ensure a high level focus to develop cross-brand sourcing- and supplier strategies, to perform joint sourcing activities and to ensure that we in the near future can capture further synergies of having common components (CBE, GW, CAM).

As a Global Category Manager for automotive oils you will be responsible to lead and further develop the SKM work. In addition to the responsibility for automotive oils, the segment Automotive fluids also includes purchase of coolant, fuels, fuel cards and other automotive liquids (such as Screenwash and Adblue). The role includes to manage, challenge and develop the supplier base to ensure sourcing to the best quality, delivery, technology and cost with a focus on sustainability. You will be responsible for creating business plans, preparing and executing presentations for Scania’s and VW Group’s sourcing committees, and to continuously improve the current way of working cross-functionally with our internal customers.

As a Global Category Manager for automotive oils you will work in close cooperation with MAN (and in the future also Navistar and potential other brands), as well as with our colleagues at R&D and Sales & Marketing, and Production which means that you will have a wide network of contacts, both internally and externally.

The office is located in Södertälje, but the position might involve some travel to Scania’s and VW Group’s various units and suppliers.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a strong commercial interest and result focus, with a sound ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts both internally and externally and who dares to challenge the current way of working. You should have several years’ experience of purchasing within different areas and be able to work both independently and within in team.

Due to the extensive international contacts you must be capable of expressing yourself fluently in both spoken and written English (Swedish and German is beneficial). It is also a merit with; Automotive purchasing experience, previous experience and knowledge of chemical purchases and experience from global business. In this role you should also be prepared to handle quality topics.
