Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Our Senior Sourcing Manager for high pressure die casting in aluminium is continuing his development and changing to another interesting position. Therefore I need to hire You to be part of the Commodity castings team and join our growth within both traditional segments and Scania’s extensive, future focus areas.
You
I am looking for a passionate and educated professional with a solid commercial interest and extensive experience. You will be taking part in activities versus the world’s largest HPDC foundries and the ability to adapt and organize is essential. The pace is often high and challenging but very rewarding. Flexibility is a need but that also goes for Scania offering possibilities to grow in the profession while keeping an active private life and family. Success in this position takes commitment, focus, analytical skills and strategic thinking. The energy we will fill you with!
The task
As Senior Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for running activities in strategically important material groups and negotiate large future business with suppliers all over the world. Being the Castings team senior you will take part in fostering and educating sourcing managers and buyers in their development and be responsible for keeping track of commercial activities and business plan development. You are expected to participate in Powertrain department training of its members. You will be part of 3-rings which includes coordination of strategic work in cooperation with MAN, Scania R&D, Project Purchasing, SQAs, Scania and MAN Latin America and Navistar via VW joint venture.
The team
Castings has a good team spirit, very good knowledge transfer and a lot of fun together most likely thanks to our variation in responsibilities and individuals. We are part of the Powertrain department and currently consist of nine purchasers in an interesting diversity – a mix of age, gender, experience and nationalities. We are responsible for the procurement of all parts in cast iron and aluminium. Our responsibility is continually growing with new parts for future powertrains and vehicles.
Me – the recruiting Manager
I am 47 years old and have worked at Scania Purchasing for nine years in four different positions. Prior to joining Scania I spent ten years within Investment Banking primarily running large Corporate finance projects. I have also worked at Stockholm Stad Environment and Health Administration. I am Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University and also Environmental Engineer. My interest in technology, business and environment is solid and this is why I like Purchasing so much. I love watching people around me grow and actively participate in their development and hence an open atmosphere and real dialogue are corner stones in my leadership.
