We do this by supplying fossil-free and renewable electricity and heat to customers and communities across northern Europe, and by innovating with industry partners to deliver fossil-free products such as green steel and synthetic jet fuel. Our ambition is to have impact beyond our size.
In order to deliver on this bold ambition, we are looking to strengthen the Market Insights team with a Senior Strategy Advisor to join us in Stockholm, Amsterdam or Berlin.
The role as Senior Strategic Advisor
We see strategy development as a journey and a continuous dialogue, where the ability to connect to the bigger picture in specific problems, facilitate discussion to align different perspectives, and form an independent view based on experience and analysis, are key to success.
Some of your responsibilities:
You will be connecting the dots by translating (complex) energy market analyses into valuable tangible insight supporting Vattenfall’s strategic decision making and asset valuation.
As a thought leader you will be leading strategic projects, interact with key stakeholders and turn market analyses into action, unlocking new business opportunities.
You will be part of a strong, multidisciplinary and smart team and work closely with senior executives and business leaders across Vattenfall.
As a Senior Strategy Advisor, you will work close with the director Market Insights and the Product Owners who are developing and using state of the art economic models that are used for long term scenario analyses and planning.
In complex multi-stakeholder environment you will act as a spider in the web and you are continuously looking for strategic business fact based analyses.
The Market Insights team interfaces with a broad network of colleagues across Vattenfall – from strategy teams in our six Business Areas to experts in Finance, Procurement, R&D and other Staff Functions - with the ultimate goal to drive strategic topics through analysis, project work and workshop facilitation and together bring insightful decision material to the Executive Group Management (EGM) and the Board of Directors.
Your qualifications as a Senior Strategic Advisor
Academic degree in economics, mathematics or physics.
5+ years of relevant experience in the energy industry, either as a strategy consultant or in a related industry.
Accomplished critical thinker with the ability to evaluate business opportunities, market data as well as making back-of-the-envelope calculations
Advanced in English, both verbally, visually and in writing. Command of Swedish, German or Dutch is a plus.
Willing to travel (occasionally).
To thrive in this role we think that you are performance-oriented and customer-focused but with the ability to also be a team player with good interpersonal and liaising skills. You also need to be a structured problem solver, skilled in analyzing and synthesizing complex problems. Lasly we believe that you have excellent communication skills and are a compelling storyteller, comfortable in addressing executive management, topical experts and stakeholders with different backgrounds
