The Protein Separations Business sits within GE Healthcare with its HQ in Uppsala.The site supports revenues in excess of $ 600 and is a key contributor to the success and the profit of the Business.The main products manufactured at the site include resins and large-scale hardware used for purification of biopharmaceuticals. The Uppsala direct sourcing operation currently consists of 8 employees managing sourcing and materials management , reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management.We are now looking to strengthen this team by recruiting a senior strategic purchaser preferably from a fine chemicals environment.The sourcing team is part of a global sourcing organization and as such offers the successful applicant development opportunities in an international environment in one of the largest companies in the world.This role entails primary accountability for a number of suppliers.The responsibility includes creating, negotiating and maintaining commercial agreements and contracts.It also encompasses involvement in product development projects as well as participating and driving the identification, implementation and ongoing development of sourcing strategies and related processes.The candidate for this role should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience of strategic sourcing.A very clear understanding of contract law, several years experience from negotiations, as well as operational experience is also a prerequisite.Suitable candidates are likely to have a degree either in economics, business administration, engineering or a similar qualification.The role also requires fluency in English.Desired characteristics are; a professional and structured approach to work, advanced communication- and listening skills as well as an ability to carry out project work both in groups and on an individual basis.The ideal candidate should display ambition, be willing to make decisions, take the initiative and drive various activities.For this recruitment we are cooporating with Proffice.Please register your application in Swedish or English at www.proffice.se no later than March 26, 2006.
