Outokumpu offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong interest in Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility, willing to become part of the Group Sustainability team and further strengthen the central sustainability organization.
Sustainability is embedded in Outokumpu strategy and as part of that Outokumpu has decided to certify its production sites according to Responsible Steel standard. Managing the certification process across the organization is the first duty in this new role.
The role will focus on establishing Responsible Steel criteria as part of normal ways of working, increasing knowledge about the standard and training relevant people around it.
By taking this new responsibility, you will have the chance to influence our global footprint, environmentally and socially, and you will be part of shaping and preparing the transition into a more sustainable production.
Responsibilities of the job
Drive & manage Responsible Steel certification in Outokumpu operation sites
Identifying and defining corrective actions for obtaining and maintaining certifications
Training & communicating about Responsible Steel throughout the organization
Developing the Responsible Steel standard forward and implementing product certifications
Developing reporting practices at Outokumpu up to the latest standards
Part of the Group Sustainability team participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting duties
Representing Outokumpu in different associations and stakeholder meetings
Driving the sustainability strategy of Outokumpu throughout the organization, e.g., organizing trainings
Ensure Outokumpu sustainability efforts are industry leading and constantly develop practices
Increasing capabilities of TCFD, CSRD, NFRD and Taxonomy reporting capabilities
Requirements of the job
Master’s degree in a relevant area
At least 5 years of working experience in economic, environmental, or technical background
Strong interest in Environment, Social and Governance matters and Corporate Social Responsibility
Result and customer-oriented way of working
Talented to set up information network
Experience in international corporate environment and reporting practices desirable
Proficiency in written and spoken English, if possible, also other languages
Great communication skills and strong in managing diverse stakeholder interests and expectations
Strong Project management skills
Knowledge about certifications and management systems
This role will be based in one of our major operating countries: Finland (Helsinki / Tornio), Sweden (Avesta / Degerfors / Nyby) or Germany (Krefeld / Dillenburg) and will report to VP – Sustainability.
