What we offer
You will become a member of one of our agile development teams with great team spirit working with one of our powerful features, upgrading our customer cars via OverTheAir (OTA) technology as well as supporting updating of cars with aftermarket tool VIDA. The teams are responsible for both designing and verifying the OTA Software Download (SWDL) technologies, on a complete system level within Volvo Cars, and implementation of software download flow for Volvo Cars aftermarkets system VIDA. In this position you will build and maintain a wide personal network within many different system areas of the vehicle, as well as backend systems and customer service departments. As a part of our teams, you get access to long term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing field, where you have a strong direct influence on customer satisfaction. The OTA teams are part of the agile release train Common Base Technology (CBT), which forms part of the fundament for all electronic control units in the entire electrical system. In our daily work, we are working according to the SAFe framework with 12 weeks program increment.
What you’ll do
You get inspired by our mission to give our customers a better car experience every day. You will use your technical knowledge within vehicle software design to help the team with implementation of software download flow for aftermarkets systems (e.g. VIDA and OverTheAir). You will also work with development of scripts, coded with both an internal language and Python, for such as
• calibration of replaced control units
• identification of all control units in the vehicle and read Diagnostic Trouble Codes
• for special use-cases and software products
You will also work together with the team with advanced test analysis of customer issues and test development connected to OTA and VIDA area, as well as supporting complete OTA system development from backend IT systems to car customer installations.
You and your skills
You enjoy learning from others as well as sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You communicate well in English and have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in or equivalent within Electrical, Software Engineering, or similar area of education. You are curious and want to contribute to develop our software downloads technologies. Driven by customer focus you get things done. You have experience with software downloads technologies in an automotive environment and probably also OTA and VIDA system. You have good vehicle technical knowledge as well as knowledge in function block-based scripting and programming in high level language, preferably Python coding. You probably have experience with continuous integration and test experience within SW testing and test analysis. Experience with test tools such as Canalyzer/CANoe and base tech areas such as Diagnostics, SWDL and Security area as well as Swedish driver license (B) is also good.
