We explore the next generation of personal, sustainable, and safe Volvo cars. Volvo Cars are now in the making of a completely new platform to support fully electric, self-driving and connected cars. The heart of the car will be a Core Computer to control the vast amount of innovative functionality and systems in the car. This new design will be present in all future Volvo cars. This will be an important cornerstone for the company to be competitive in the fast-paced transformation of the previous traditional car industry going all electric. We are now looking for a Senior Developer with deep knowledge within embedded systems. 

Team and role specifics 
You will be a key developer and driver within our System Analysis team. The team consist of senior developers with both specialist and generalist competence. The team is diving into areas and system wide issues other parts of the organization have a hard time solving. The team has been looking into areas such as performance, developing tools for traceability and visualization. We are also in the early development of a crash dump analysis pipeline to get a better understanding on the wellbeing of the platform. Our department as a whole is working with many different areas from car feature development, SW architectural design, SW build tools & CI pipelines and system analyses solving issues which other teams have trouble figure out themselves. The teams are working in an agile way, with great independence, ownership and trust. We have a warm and relaxed atmosphere where you will be an important contributor to the team. Our software will run on emulators as well as hardware rigs and finally the car itself. You will build the next generation of Volvo cars. 

You and your skills 
You are a senior developer /architect with a curious approach to new challenges. You dig into technical details as well as understand the bigger picture. You enjoy great teamwork, are proactive, creative, and willing to share your experience and knowledge. You are entrepreneurial and have the capacity to drive issues in cooperation with our stakeholders. You can also navigate your way through ambiguous and undefined problems. You have a MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. You are self-going with at least 5 years of experience from embedded software development (C++ and/or C, and Python). You have experience from various projects and/or companies in embedded systems. You have a deep understanding of embedded system and Linux environment. 

Good to have:
•    Worked as Technical Lead or hands-on Software Architect
•    Prometheus, Grafana or other visualization tools
•    Jenkins and/or Zuul experience
•    Continuous Integration
•    Test Automation
•    QNX
•    Worked with HIL (Hardware in a loop) rigs and automated test systems in automotive rigs. 
•    Knowledge of automotive network communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, Ethernet, MOST, Flexray).
•    Experienced working with CANalyzer, CANoe or CAPL.
