We are looking for a senior SW System Architect to work on designs, platforms and concepts, preparing such for smooth transition into the development organization. It involves system level SW design on architectural and solutions level, requirements and function allocation, as well as defining system qualities and characteristics. The work is done in collaboration with other disciplines such as product management and development cross-functional teams. We expect you can work in agile teams but you are also expected to move the work forward on your own.
Role Description:
We can offer you a place in a dynamic team of experienced system architects, where we work with many technology areas ranging from optical communications at speeds up to 400Gbps to control systems and management systems used for network turn up, service creation and surveillance. The team works on system level meaning that hardware, software and firmware are all part of defining products and solutions for building our competitive networks. You will be faced with challenges that will require creative and innovative solutions and you will be able to see the results of your contribution in the sense of how it correlates and affects our sales and customers. The role includes collaboration across other sites outside Sweden.
Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:
Responsible for: network, system and SW architecture, solutions, principles and guidelines,
with pluggable coherent optical modules in focus ((Q)SFPx/CFPx)
Capture customer and business requirements and writing system/SW requirements
Allocate functions between products and platforms
Prepare architectural documents
Drive technical studies and technical roadmaps
Data models
Assist with technical expertise and guidance to development projects
Close cooperation with Product management, Operation and all parts of RnD
Global collaborations with other sites within Infinera

Education & Experience Necessary for Success:
M.Sc or similar degree within computer science or equivalent education
At least 15 years working experience of telecommunication or datacom system development
System and SW architecture lead experience including SW design and programming
Good knowledge of industry standards and initiatives, design patterns, protocols, software trends and emerging technologies, including customer and market trends
Ability to create the right architecture
Experience in integration of ASICs, FPGAs and CPU platforms
Experience of different CPU platforms (ARM, PPC, x86) in embedded Linux environments
In-depth experience of ARM in environments with very limited RAM and flash is meriting
In-depth knowledge of network technologies such as 5G, IoT, Ethernet, OTN, IP and MPLS
Competence on communication interfaces like I2C, MDIO, SPI, AMBA
Good verbal and written communication in English
Flexible, innovative, driven and strong problem-solving skills
