About us
At Volvo Product Creation & Quality (P&Q) you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding luxury BEV vehicles from Volvo Cars. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people.
Our group 97740, Electric Drive HW System, consists of 2 teams with about 20 engineers, and we are still growing. We are responsible for the electric driveline (ED) attribute definition and to validate its fulfilment, as well as the electromagnetic design results into different electric machine (EM) concepts. Utilizing and improving FEM and statistical tools as well as measuring and analysing real data in test rigs and vehicles are important tools for us. Our vision “Leading in electrification” means we are motivated contributing to world class efficiency in future products.
What´s in it for you
As an SA (system analysis engineer) you will develop and define a balanced technical and logical target setting solution for one's system area, which works together with adjoining system areas, in an agile way of working together with the team and your fellow SA colleagues.
The main task is to identify all Electric driveline requirements within the system area and, by using Volvo Cars system engineering methods, develop a balanced technical acumen which works together with connecting ED system areas incl. EM, Inverter, Transmission and SW, as particular important interfaces to function and be merged into the different vehicle projects across our platforms.
What you will do
-Taking part in optimizing and balancing of requirement fulfilment on
over-heading system area.
- Leading optimizing and balancing of requirement fulfilment on underlying system areas.
- Secure scalability for one's system area between platforms.
The role will also initiate, support, and perform relevant CAE analyses and
real-life testing, incl. analysis work needed, to further develop the overall Electric driveline target setting knowledge.
A close co-operation within the team and across Vehicle propulsion dept. is crucial, to enable the future implementation of the most desirable solutions.
Key enabler in the teamwork is to co-operate through the agile way of working, with backlog deliverables, data driven documentation, related to each program increment (PI) planning, to reach established and agreed team targets and solutions.
Your skills
* Documented experience in Automotive development process.
* Electric powertrain acumen >5 years.
* Advanced level Matlab/Simulink, Python.
Enthusiastic about the details in the documentation and consider
target setting as the structured way forward. * University degree M.Sc. within Electric Engineering or similar.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Driving license B.
Meritorious
ISO 26262, functional safety experience.
Background from EM-rig testing, vehicle attribute analyses or CAE,
i.e VSIM, Inca, Comsol, Motor-CAD, ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG.
Understanding of power electronics or ICE/HEV propulsion attribute details and processes, as comparison.
