About us

Volvo Cars commitment in electrification leads us to take the next step in the development of Electric Propulsion Technology - Power Electronics. The Power Electronics department designs the brain of the Electric Vehicle propulsion system - The Traction inverters HW & SW as well as Power Conversion and Charger units.

What you will do
As a Senior System Design engineer with at least 5 years of experience. You will be a central part of the development team for power electronics hardware & systems. You will manage the requirements on the components (Power Converters) and together with our design engineers balance our design solutions to optimize attributes versus cost. Requirement management will include both incoming requirement (black box) compliancy as well as break down and refinement of requirements for our design teams (white box).

You will have a leading role in system analysis to make sure our products are designed using best technology and built-in quality.
You will also, together with our system architects, ensure that our power electronics products fit into the roadmap our future strategic needs.

What you will bring
You have a university degree within Electrical engineering /Power Electronics/Systems engineering,
experience in High Voltage system design.
Experience in product development, working methods and project execution.

You have previous experience with the development of DCDC and ACDC converters.
You have a high ability and a strong will to continuously learn and develop your skillset in Power Electronics technology/development.

You have good knowledge and experience of the ISO26262 and its related products at the system and HW level.

You are experienced with FMEA analysis at the system level.
You are business oriented, flexible and performance oriented with the courage to take decisions and be accountable.
