About this opportunity
We are a newly formed organization within Business Unit Networks partnering with our customers and dedicated to undertaking about realizing a virtualized Radio Access Network (RAN).
We will accelerate the product development with new fresh thinking, challenge the established flow with new methodologies and take advantage of open-source solutions with active engagement. Our main challenge is full stack virtualization of 5G with both Centralized RAN & Distribute RAN configurations using commercial hardware (x86) and cloud technologies (both bare metal and virtualized).
What you will do
Lead the architecture definition and the development of the Ericsson Cloud RAN vDU hands on
Architect, Design, Build, Test and Deploy software
Pedagogically educate the organization about the current and strategic direction of the vDU architecture
Evolve the architecture and finding the sweet spot between scalability, resilience, and performance
Actively drive and lead studies in and beyond the vDU
You will bring
Passion for SW Development!
Excellent knowledge with 5G NR and LTE 3GPP standards and/or Cloud technologies
Good programming skills, preferably in either C, C++, Python, Go or similar
Good communication and presentation skills
A collaborative mentality
Additional qualifications
Experience working with Cloud Native core design principles – microservice architecture, Kubernetes platform (pods, containers, services etc.)
Basic understanding in one or several of:
Tools for installing and managing Kubernetes applications (Helm)
Container internals (CRI-O), Linux kernel control groups and container network interfaces.
Linux Kernel Internals and debugging Linux Operating System
Systems performance and willing to learn new technologies and performance tools in this area
Product development experience in Wireless embedded SW and/or Cloud Native product development
System simulation techniques and tools
