To further strengthen our New Technology Development team in Gothenburg, we are seeking a Senior System Engineer.
You will join our CTO team that is responsible for scouting, analyzing and developing new technology and IPR for coming product development. We work with cutting-edge technology at the forefront of development, in close collaboration with the R&D department and other parts of the company. The role
As a Senior System Engineer, you will be involved in identifying new technologies and solutions for application in coming products. Your responsibility is to define, analyze, and set the requirements for novel systems based on the identified new technologies and solutions. The work is very varying, ranging from high level system architecture definition to detailed implementation proposals and filing of new patents. Most of our topics relate to microelectronic systems, sensors integration, and biometric recognition with focus on application in smart phones.
As a senior member of the team, you will also contribute to defining and assigning tasks among team members and take responsibility in executing and concluding the assignments within the project plan.
Key responsibilities
• Develop system concepts for new hardware modules or existing hardware modules augmented with new technologies
• Compile system level requirements for novel hardware solutions
• Develop and analyze architecture for systems incorporating new sensing technologies for the primary purpose of integration with mobile phones
• Drive technology readiness level (TRL) assessments
• Participate in technology scouting, analysis, and strategic technology choices
• Drive collaboration and exchange of technical information with Fingerprint Cards’ partners and suppliers
• Actively contribute to Fingerprint Cards’ IP portfolio within new technologies.
Your background
This role requires a Master of Science in electrical engineering, microelectronics, physics, or similar. Previous experience from semiconductor or microelectronic industry is a must.
Success in this role further requires:
• 7+ years of relevant industrial experience in the field of semiconductors and microelectronics with focus on system engineering
• Previous experience in hardware and IC design
• Experience in driving new technology development from system perspective
• Multi-disciplinary background with experience in a wide range of technologies is big plus
• Knowledge of designing and prototyping complex technologies
• Good collaboration skills and ability to lead others in complex technology environments
• You need to be fluent in spoken and written English
• Be able to travel internationally. Travel can be planned in advanced.

Work Location
The work location is Gothenburg but can be negotiated under certain circumstances.
