We are on a Digital transformation journey at the iconic IKEA. To support the digital transformation, operations and monitoring data is core in ensuring transparency and availability of our solutions used by our customers. We are now in need for a passionate and innovative engineer who loves working in an agile environment, expanding our logging and event management solution based on Splunk
The Log Analytics and Event management team is at the heart of the Operational Intelligence platform supporting every engineering team at IKEA. The team builds monitoring infrastructure covering operational metrics, centralized logging, and distributed tracing for every team at IKEA across multiple global data centers, private and public cloud (GCP, Azure, Alibaba), and many other smaller regions.
REQUIREMENTS
We believe you are a passionate engineer with 5+ years of experience in systems and/or software engineering with proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Phyton)
You understand the importance of log analytics and event management in an operational context for applications end to end observability. Operational experience with Splunk is a must and experience with similar (Elastic, SumoLogic, etc ), event management products and cloud management at scale is beneficial.
Work experience / hands-on skills in the following areas will be an advantage:
Splunk Solution Architectural Design
Deploying/Supporting Splunk infrastructure
Hands-on & practical experience of log aggregation related to Cloud Platforms, server-less compute, and micro-services (Lamba, Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of automation technologies such as Ansible is desired

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
When you join us, you will be part of a team managing the architecture, design, and operation of one of the largest Splunk implementations in Northern Europe. If you are not already a Splunk black belt, we will help you to grow into one!
Together with the team, you will be responsible for the continued development of our logging and event management offerings. Following market trends to explore, research and ensure we always stay on top to create impact and make a difference to all teams at IKEA.
You will collaborate with our operations team and our colleagues in Operational Intelligence on new Splunk and other solution feature and complex project requests
You will also work with product APIs for integration in our CI/CD tool chain both on-prem, private and public cloud.

We’re a small team consisting of 6 people working closely with our managed service operations team. We are quite autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together. We are based in Malmö and Dortmund, but a mix of local and remote work is not a problem.
We are passionate about building easy to consume capabilities supporting the need to high quality data insight in the operational process at IKEA. Giving business and operations team support and insight into availability and performance of critical business applications and infrastructure enables successful delivery of service to our customers.
