Senior Systems Engineers

Core Services is a growing part of Sandvik IT and there are new strategic services being set up within the area of additional application services. The Additional Application Services department has a crucial role in ensuring operational stability and development for many of Sandvik's most prioritized applications and platforms. Today, our team consists of ten contractors, and we are now looking for Senior Systems Engineers with different directions, for very challenging and stimulating roles with many different areas of responsibility. Job Summary
As a Senior Systems Engineer you are responsible for the implementation of new solutions and/or functionality. Working with systems integration (dependencies between platforms, OS, network, applications, etc.) and operating and maintaining the technical solutions (monitoring, logging, backup, capacity planning, etc.) are part of your daily work. You install and upgrade the solutions, create and maintain standard operating procedures and work with design and configuration of hardware and software. Evaluating new technologies and methods and promoting continuous service improvements are also important tasks. Additionally, you are responsible for capacity planning and resource optimization and you perform second and third-line support. Finally, you contribute to internal competence sharing with colleagues, users and other groups, locally and globally, and acts as a mentor for systems engineers.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with Windows Server knowledge that corresponds to Microsoft Associate level (Course 410, 411, 412) and experience in IIS that corresponds to the Administering Web Server (IIS) role of Windows Server (Course 10972A). You have about five years? experience from service and support areas for solutions in general, as well as those specifically used at Sandvik. A Bachelor´s in IT is preferred in this role, as is knowledge of Citrix, Apache, Tomcat, JBOS, JAVA and ITIL. Basic Network knowledge, Sandvik Business understanding and experience from technical support within Sandvik are advantageous, so is work experience from level two field support for clients and applications. As we act in a global environment, your English skills are excellent, both verbally and in writing.

For the position of Senior Systems Engineer within SQL you will also need to have knowledge about different SQL storage options and at least three years? experience from working as a DBA. You have good understanding about Windows Server, knowledge of SQL high availability solutions and experience with SQL virtualization, especially VMware.
