Group Tax is organized within Group Finance and consist of 25 persons (in Sweden, US and China, specialized within corporate income tax, VAT, social security charges and transfer pricing. The work within Group Tax involves extensive contacts both within Volvo Cars and externally with tax authorities etc. This gives a tremendous opportunity for broadened experience and networking within Volvo Cars and externally in Sweden and worldwide.
For the position as Senior Tax Expert within Group Tax, we are now looking for a knowledgeable and experienced person focused on international and Swedish corporate income tax questions, who wants to be part of an active group in a dynamic environment. The role is challenging and the person holding the position will continue to build tax expertise, develop in functional leadership, spreading the tax message in the organization, working in and leading teams and understanding the automotive and Volvo business. This role involves extensive contacts both within Volvo Cars and externally with tax authorities among others. This gives a tremendous opportunity for broadened experience and networking within Volvo Cars and externally in Sweden and worldwide.
Main responsibilities
• Pursue international tax issues towards tax authorities, courts and other local authorities, lead and administer tax audits and queries
• Keep track and report on the status of ongoing tax issues in the world
• Be responsible for the pro-active management /implementation/sign-off of all administrative obligations regarding international taxation items and also closely monitor impact of new legislative initiatives
• Participate in projects ensuring correct tax handling/set up
• Be a sounding board for the finance department, the foreign affiliate's team members and for other departments in Swedish and international tax related questions and in this securing that Volvo Cars companies meet legal requirements
• Train and guide the organization regarding corporate income tax matters
• Prepare and review Swedish corporate income tax returns within the Volvo Car group
• Withholding tax reconciliations
• Handle MDR/DAC 6 reporting
Required qualifications
• University degree within Law or Economics
• Experience from qualified work of corporate income taxation regarding large companies, for example from the Swedish Tax Agency or the tax department of an audit firm or company (the experience can involve drafting and/or review of income tax returns, tax audits, tax litigation, independently carrying out of judicial investigations and tax consulting)
• Knowledge within transfer pricing
• Understanding of accounting, financial and business principles
• Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken
• Good knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint is meritorious
