Arbetsbeskrivning
AI Sweden is the national center for applied artificial intelligence, jointly funded by the Swedish government and our partners, both public and private. Our mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of our society, our competitiveness, and for everyone living in Sweden.
We are now looking for a Senior Technical Expert to our Data Factory to develop, operate and maintain the infrastructure.
About the Data Factory
AI Sweden’s Data Factory is a national resource that includes standard storage and compute facilities as well as world-leading test and experimentation facilities. The facilities are intended as test-beds to develop next-generation training infrastructure for high-integrity, cost-efficient development of AI models.
As an example, one existing implementation in the test-bed is the Edge Learning Lab focusing on solutions for Federated Learning, Swarm Learning, and various hybrids of these. The Edge Learning Lab was established by leading Swedish and international high-tech companies in collaboration with the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova.
Currently, AI Sweden and its partners are expanding the capacity in all areas of the Data Factory to further speed up the ability to enable partners to train AI models, and to experiment, learn and develop solutions and knowledge.
About the position
In this role you will develop, operate and maintain the infrastructure and contribute to the more long-term strategy and vision for our future infrastructure and test-bed.
Additionally you will support AI Sweden’s partners and help them succeed with their model-training, experiments, and knowledge-sharing.
Today, AI Sweden employs about 50 people across its 9 offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Örebro, Linköping, Lund, Karlskrona, Luleå, Sundsvall and Skellefteå.
As your physical presence is often needed, you’ll be based in Gothenburg. If you’re moving to Sweden from another country, we will of course offer relocation assistance. Checkout movetogothenburg.com if you’re curious about the city.

- a keen learner, curious, and bold in suggesting innovative ideas.
- very comfortable with ever-evolving requirements and requests for novel arrangements that have never been done before.
- keen to work in a dynamic environment and a rapidly growing organization.
- excited to work with our partners and to help them succeed with their AI efforts.
And workwise, you're
- interested in developing multi-tenant, multi-purpose platforms, experimentation facilities and infrastructure.
- highly proficient with Linux, Ansible, Virtual Machine Environments, and multi-tenant administration.
- a demonstrated team player with management experience and comfortable with diverse teams that comprise people of many cultural and language backgrounds.
- a good communicator, both verbally and in writing. (English)
- experienced, with a minimum of 5 years professional work in relevant areas and an understanding of both industry and academic research objectives, working environments, and processes.
Most likely you have a M.Sc. in Computer Science/Networks or equivalent working experience. Also, it’s definitely meriting with experience from network switch configuration, embedded environments and IoT devices, and Core & Cloud management.
Why work for AI Sweden?
At AI Sweden, you’ll be part of a diverse and highly skilled team with inspiring colleagues all working with a higher purpose in mind than “just” tech. Journalists, linguists, policy professionals, leading AI-scientists, historians, entrepreneurs, change leaders, and many more.
As an organization, we’re uniquely positioned at the sweet spot of governmental oomph and startup nimbleness. Small enough to stay adaptive and have fun but backed by and in close contact with both state and industry, both private and public.
And, we can most certainly be a platform helping you realize your ideas. Bring a good one, big or small, and we most likely will support and co-create with you.
In short, we like to believe we offer our staff a place to grow, an environment for personal development.
An equal and fair working environment
We strongly believe in diversity and inclusion and are acutely aware of the skewed gender balance in our industry. We actively strive to put together a diverse team in terms of age, gender and background.
Naturally, we’re under a collective agreement (“kollektivavtal”) and offer everything that comes with it in terms of annual leave, pensions, wellness allowance (“friskvårdsbidrag”), and such.
