We are looking for a senior Technical Writer who wants to write documentation for our self-driving forklift (AGV) systems.
What will you do?
Toyota Material Handling is a forward-thinking company where we develop the future of Logistics and material handling by creating self-driving vehicles used in warehouses. The team in Gothenburg (TMHLS) develop advanced order and traffic management software to guide self-driving vehicles for our customers automated solutions.
TMHLS strives to act as the Centre of excellence and provide our sales offices located in Europe with the tools and knowledge to sell and deliver customer projects efficiently and with high quality. To provide correct and relevant documentation together with our products is one of our most important tasks.
As a Technical Writer your focus will be the creation of documentation which aims to guide our application engineers, both centrally and located in our sales offices, in the process of design, test, verification, preparation and commissioning of our AGV systems.
You will be a part of the Operations & Support department where you will be a valuable complement to our application engineer team. You will work closely with a wide span of technical experts to ensure that each step in the design and commissioning process is carefully described, relevant, correct and up to date.
Core responsibilities
- Convert technical information from our technical experts into documentation.
- Peer reviews, editing.
- Network with and seek out input from our technical experts
- Writing documentation for the Delivery process.
- You will also be a part of TMHLS content team that has technical writers in different departments with different focus areas. You will together with the content team;
- Maintain the Content style guide.
- Work on content and architectural improvements.
- Create newsletters.
Your profile
We believe that you are an enthusiastic technical writer with an interest in technology and AGV:s. You have strong communication skills and the ability to listen and build relationships. You thrive being a part of a team and contribute to team spirit.
We believe that you have:
- A relevant university degree within Software Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2 years experience of writing software documentation.
- Ability to drive document production and communication with relevant stakeholders
- Excellent English skills, both verbal and written.
- Editing experience.
- Experience of writing in XML/HTML/Markdown editors.
Valuable skills:
- Illustrator, Photoshop or Inkscape experience.
- Information Architecture experience.
