Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture, and brand uniqueness.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience in Leading complex Validation and Verification in the domain of Thermal Management-
With the new type of propulsion BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and Fuel Cell, the complexity of the Thermal Management system has increase. To secure the Verification & Validation during the development process we are looking for hiring and Test Architect in Thermal Management.
Close to the System architects, System & sub system component owners, Software & Control teams, Test and Simulation engineers the Test Architect will have to build and structure the entire Verification and Validation process and workflow between our teams, our stakeholders and external partners.
Your responsibilities include defining the short, mid- and long-term roadmap to support the ongoing projects and the coming challenges.
Animate regular meetings with all stakeholders (Thermal management members, Complete Vehicle, Powertrain Engineer, Certification entities, Safety & security responsible, Site responsible
Map the Verification and Validation workflow and define responsibility split between TM and all stakeholders
Lead all the activities to build new rigs (Software, control, mechanical, pneumatical, electrical, coolant & refrigerant liquid…)
Define the budget for the Verification and Validation activities in TM and with internal & external suppliers. Create a dashboard to track the situation and escalate deviations.
Present business case for Machine, Tools and Rigs investment linked to the defined strategy.
Relevant experience
5-10 years of experience from Automotive Climate and Cooling system is an advantage
Electrical HW and SW knowledge
A validated experience in the drafting of complex specifications involving different areas of expertise (Fluid / electrical / mechatronics / measurement / sensor / software).
Excellent communication (written and oral in English) and collaboration skills, easiness to evolve in X-functional network
Applicants shall have academic degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with academic & proven skills in project Management (PMP)
