Safety has always been one of our company's strongest core values. At Safety Lab within Safety and Durability Verification Section, we perform tests in all phases on component-, system-, and vehicle level to support Volvo Car Corporation’s ambitions when it comes to safety. We support R&D with development-, correlation-, homologation-, and verification tests.
As Senior Test Leader you will be part of the planning team in the section. You will be responsible for the planning of all tests in the areas of your responsibility - complete vehicle and component tests.
We work in a Lean-Agile set up and you will work in close cooperation with the Product Owner of the lab. The Product Owner is setting the priority and the scope for the tests and you as Senior Test Leader will create and be responsible for the test plan accordingly. To be able to do that you will hold planning meetings and work in close cooperation with the involved teams performing the tests. In the lab we primarily communicate in Swedish.
In your role as Senior Test Leader, you will be a key player in supporting and fulfilling customer needs for verification of their products to the world leading safety requirements at Volvo Cars.
What you will do
As Senior Test Leader, you will be responsible for the test plan for all complete vehicle and component tests. For the agreed amount of test need (Product Owner’s responsibility) you will make sure the plan is optimized with the available rig and resources.
You will represent the Safety Lab in discussions with System Architects and Component Owners in attribute and design departments to ensure an efficient utilization of rig and resources. You will be responsible for manning of the Test Requests and hold weekly planning meetings with the teams executing the tests to set the short-term plan (2-4 weeks). This includes balancing the lab capability and capacity as well as being responsible for the interface towards stakeholders and other involved areas.
Together with the teams in the Safety Lab and your colleagues in the planning team, you will ensure excellent collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for efficient testing and highest quality standards.
You and your skills
We believe you have a University Degree or equivalent experience. You have an interest in cars and technology, and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. You have planning and/or leadership experience with a high focus of quality and deliveries. Experience from working in product development, Safety Attributes or Safety Lab is meritorious.
On a personal level, you have a genuine interest in both technology and leadership. You are well structured and customer focused, you are skilled in networking, and you promote collaboration. You are engaging and delivery driven with a strong initiative and the ability to make things happen. You prefer clear and direct communication with both team members and colleagues, and you are responsive to customer needs.
