BACKGROUND
Our customer is using two different POS-systems in the checkout lanes today, IBM 4690 in North America and Calypso in the remaining countries. Both of these systems are out of date, old and they are in their end of life. It is also getting increasingly hard to implement new requirements and it is today not certain that new legal demands can be met with the current systems. POS is an abbreviation of Point Of Sale and in this project consisting of four physical parts; Cash-register, Back-Office Server, Integration point to our customer?s existing system landscape and a central part.
The implementation and rollout of TP.net as new POS-system for the checkout lanes will provide the stores with new functionality and support in the Receive Payment-process.
The project will run until 2015 and upgrade all current Calypso-registers to TP.net and replace the IBM 4690-registers in North America also with TP.net from Wincor-Nixdorf. The project will upgrade and replace registers in 290 stores in 25 countries.
The objective of the project is to secure running business by deliver a common POS solution for the checkout lanes in stores including the return desk.
In addition, the project will enable the stores to lower the cost of doing the daily cash reconciliation by implementing new processes and IT-tools for it. The project will also deliver new functionality for reports on store-, country- and enterprise-level.
TASKS
The scope of the resource services is to assist our client in assuring the quality deliveries of the project. Main tasks that the requested resource will work with and be responsible for making this happen are:
? Run functional and non-functional tests of the project?s deliveries
? Report and follow up on defects
? Design and implement test cases and test scenarios
? Contribute to the test planning
? Assist the developers in defect analysis
PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The person shall have following profile:
? Extensive knowledge in test execution
? Good knowledge in test tools (HP Quality Center, Clear Quest)
? Good knowledge of our customer?s solution in Retail area
? Willing to learn about POS configuration details and technical setup in POS environment
? Solid experience of Information systems and Integration processes
? Good ability to document defects in a way that supports its analysis
? Fluent in English, both spoken and written
? Good communication skills, both oral and in writing
? Understanding of our customer?s business processes
? A strong drive for problem solving and the energy to realize goals
? Structured and a sense for details
? The ability to handle complex issues with a great sense of responsibility
? Knowledge about a more than one system in our customer?s Retail landscape is beneficial for the candidate
? Previous experience from working with our client is a big advantage
