Senior Thermal Design Engineer

Job description * Responsible for the cooling systems of various electronic equipment cabinets, enclosures, including cooling solutions on PCB board and component levels. The equipment consists of Analogue Digital and RF technology with varying heat dissipations for indoor and outdoor applications. Essential Skills required: * In excess of 7years experience in packaging electronic equipment and the cooling of assemblies and devices. * Experience with Flotherm or similar thermal simulation tools. * Knowledge of associated fan acoustic issues and the methods of measurement. * The ability to plan, test and report on design concepts and pre production product. * Familiarity with and application of standards, such as ETSI, NEBS, IEC. * Familiarity with the WEEE directive and RoHS requirements. Additional skills required: * Good all round practical approach to engineering working in a team. * Fluent spoken and written English. * Good report writing skills. * The ability to communicate and work in multicultural environment. * The ability to think of novel solutions and prove them. Beneficial: * Mechanical or Electromechanical engineering background, preferably from telecommunications companies (especially RBS/BTS development experience), computer systems. * Experience of product compliance testing. * General environmental testing experience would be of advantage. (Temperature, Humidity, Vibration, Impact, Dust and Corrosion) * Experience of PTC ProEng Wildfire 2.0 CAD system or similar products. * The ability to use FMEA, or other risk analysis methods and problem solving tools.
