Description: Senior UI/GUI Design Consultant (SUDC) is a senior job position in a multi-site User Interface (UI) Design Department with about 50 staffs. SUDC shall report directly to Director of Terminal Design Department who manages a group of UX-related design departments including UI Design dept. With his (her) expertise, SUDC shall consult for his (her) boss Director of Terminal Design Department and his (her) fellow Senior UI Design Manager (SUDM) in terms of UI/GUI-related design direction, design assessment, design training, design promotion, design strategy or planning, etc. Generally, SUDC is more design business focused while SUDM is more administration focused. However, SUDC shall communicate well with SUDM and enlist the support from the latter on his/her consultancy. Qualification: Worldwide top-class design education background Above 10 year GUI/UI-related design or/and design management experience in consumer electronics and mobile phone field Excellent design portfolio or successful design cases, especially for the mass-production market Deep understanding on real product development Excellent communication skills both internally and externally Be strongly willing to understand corporate culture of a large-scale organization Responsibilities: Project supervision: To refine project plans based on realistic business criteria To lead concept ideation, review in-progress work and make recommendation, guaranteeing the right direction To assess the design output, guaranteeing the good design quality To refine the standards in design methods and build the success criteria of design results. Team capability strengthening: To identify and assess the capability weakness and growth goals of the design team To improve design creation skills and methodologies of the design team (e.g., soft skills, tools, training workshops, etc.) To facilitate the interface and communication between in-house design team and other related disciplines (e.g., Industrial Design team, technical development teams, etc.) To recommend or interview the recruiting candidates To introduce other fresh design ideas or skills or methodologies, and convert them into the hands-on experiences and capabilities of the design team Internal design promotion: To refine design vision of corporate and communicate inside the company by all the means To organize workshops and recommend process, creating a "Human-centered" design culture inside the company To facilitate the communication between the design team and the other related departments To promote the design concepts or outputs towards the other related departments, helping them build the confidence about design To participate the business promotion with the front-line sales or marketing departments External resource integration To introduce and evaluate the 3rd party design or implementation resources To facilitate the participation in design activities or events or awards in industry.
