Consumer Services at Volvo Group Connected Solutions is responsible for the end user services, from idea to development and operation. Together with our partners and customers we create value through fantastic user experience and business enhancing services and products.

We are now looking for a Senior User Experience Researcher to join our design team and to take part in our exiting journey ahead. We are a collaborative team of more than 15 highly skilled user experience and service designers with an ambitious target to create world class user experience for our brands. Our designers play a key role in all of our customer facing development providing design competence to the product and solutions teams and work in close collaboration with product owner, BA, developers and stakeholders.

The role 
In this role you will be on a quest to understand and advocate for the users; what do they need and why, throughout their daily transport and logistic journey. You will define research activities together with the UX strategist, designers and stakeholders. You will lead the design research studies and the analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data collected. You will transform findings into easily understandable insights and visualizations and present your findings to the organization. Your research and insights will be instrumental in defining our UX strategy forward. You will be working in the central design team, in close collaboration with our UX strategist and design leadership, as well as the broader design team.

You will also:
Identify unmet needs and opportunities across all our user/customer touchpoints.
Partner with designers and stakeholders to frame and prioritize problems to solve based on data, defining research questions, selecting appropriate methods, developing research objects, budgets and timelines and recruiting participants.
Collect insights about the people within the transport and logistic community through a variety of methods, whether it is contextual interviews, concept tests, usability tests, diary studies, ethnographic observations, or a new method you invent.
Be a driving force to lead the organization by setting up way of working, tools and systems, best practices to incorporate user research and insights in the daily operations. Inspire change by translating research findings into usable and actionable insights and design tools i.e impact goals, journeys, design principles, etc.
Collaborate with other teams i.e Analytics to triangulate quantitative and qualitative data to better understand behavior.
Connect our organization with the users and customers from our Business Areas's on a broad scale by exchanging and partnering with them.
Deliver engaging presentations that communicate research insights to designers, product teams and management.
Edit and publish research-related knowledge to set UX research standards that work in pair with our design system.


Your profile
You are curious about people and their problems. You are an expert at asking questions and uncovering the underlying factors that influence behavior.
You are a strong communicator, expressing findings and insights through writing, slide decks, storytelling, and also a strong collaborator since user research is most effective when a team conducts research as a collaborative effort.
You are a passionate learner dedicated to the craft of research and its various methodologies.
You have at least 5-7 years experiences of conducting user research covering all aspects of research, including recruiting processes, scheduling and logistics, protocol development, analysis and framework development, video compilations and research deliverables.
You have a qualitative research experience that may include interviewing, moderating, ethnographic research, contextual interviews, UX/UI research, field studies.
You have a quantitative research experience that may include survey research, synthesizing/analyzing large-scale data, natural language processing or other large text, or experimental design.
