WHAT UTOPIANS DO

We are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.

WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL BE

You'll have the opportunity to help define and drive the future of Utopia's products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll reveal what users need from the products by conducting research and performing usability studies.

Alongside this, you'll also inspire change, deliver oral and written presentations, evaluate qualitative and quantitative data. You'll help the UX team better understand what would make a user’s experience more intuitive, accessible, and seamless. Your broad track record will be essential to mentor peers and provide insights for multiple teams, and strongly contribute with validation of hypothesis and innovation opportunities throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create hypotheses, set research objectives, and reach unbiased conclusions
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research
- Validate assumptions that will guide the product team’s designs
- Discover patterns and insights through focus groups, interviews, surveys, field studies, card sorting, journey mapping, testing, and more
- Keep the product design team on track by focusing on specific goals through user research objectives
- Assist the product team in making design decisions that directly impact ROI - saving your clients’ time and money
- Plan and implement user research strategies and methodologies.
- Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written and oral presentations.
- Perform qualitative insight activities with consumers.
- Ask questions, gather data, and analyze data.
- Use a diverse set of UX research tools.
- Distribute customer and industry knowledge, and take a driving role in improving the design function best practices and workflow
- Lead and mentor other Researchers


HOW TO IMPACT

- Providing answers to challenging and often unexplored questions about a product’s design
- Many enriching interactions with all the business lines of the organization
- Contribution to develop the best design strategy, in order to maximize the company's through customer advocacy


THE IDEAL SKILLSET

- 5+ years of experience as UX Researcher
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer science or Human Behavior
- Fluency in English


OPERATIONAL:

- In-depth understanding of UX and UI design
- Experience conducting user research
- Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methodologies
- Working knowledge of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistics
- Passion for design and technology; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
- Strong Business acumen and Industry knowledge

- We are supporting work permits for employees that moved here from countries outside the EU. However, we do not support relocation at the moment. Our remote policy allows employees flexible remote work but we don't hire outside Sweden or Finland for this position.
