Your role within our Kingdom
Our players' experience comes first at King. As a UX researcher for Candy Crush Soda Saga, you'll make use of your passion for games, psychology, and user research to help teams understand their audience and to create the most user friendly and engaging games in the industry.
You'll work with producers, business managers, UI/UX specialists, and developers to help answer the most challenging questions they face around design and product audience.
You'll inspire positive change at all stages of game development by conducting research and delivering findings via direct team collaboration, presentations, and reports.
Most importantly, your job as a researcher is to help the team understand who the players are and what would make our players' experiences feel more intuitive, accessible, fun—and even magical.
Join the Candy Crush Soda Saga development team to help them integrate research methods and testing cadences into their design processes and dev cycles.
Design, plan and execute UX research projects for various features and live ops for Candy Crush Soda Saga, on different stages of the game development. In the early stages, you’ll be working with the team to understand and define the audience. In more advanced phases, you’ll be supporting the team and UX Designers in the creation of benchmark studies that can help track the pulse of their game's usability and engageability.
Fieldwork coordination and management for different research techniques: Participant recruiting, research question formulation, moderation guide and briefings creation, interview conduction, data synthesis, report presentations…
Organize off- site research activities, search for third- party research companies, work together with them on delivering high quality research findings, deliver insights to the teams.
Deliver compelling insights to the product and design groups.
Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations, all the way up to executive leadership.
Evangelize new and exciting research activities throughout teams.
Develop and innovate on current King’s user research practices.
Communicate with other UX Researchers across King to share learnings and best practices.
Contribute to company- wide research strategy.
Maintain and innovate on research data storage and sharing formats.
Work closely with Data Scientists on data triangulation.

Skills to create Thrills
Worked in a research role for at least 3 years (5+ for senior roles)
Relevant bachelor's (psychology, human computer interaction, anthropology, information science, human factors, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.
Passionate about gaming and gamers
Passionate about user research as well as "know how" of current trends
Willingness to innovate and go "off script" to help teams with challenging constraints
Demonstrated experience helping organizations improve their research methods
Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and verbal)
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
A broad range of extensive knowledge in the areas of research design, qualitative and quantitative methods applied in a business environment
Proven ability to translate findings into actionable product improvements
Experience partnering with business and data science specialists for learning exchange
Portfolio must illustrate strong examples of research work (along with impact) and be easily available for review

Bonus Points
Experience working on mobile titles
Knowledge of, and an interest in free- to- play best- practice
