User Experience as a discipline is a key part of Volvo Cars' strategy. The UX Organisation is gathering insights about our users and redefining and elevating the users’ experience of Volvo's products and services.
Within Volvo Cars, the UX Vision team identifies new opportunity areas, analyzes them from a human perspective by identifying explicit and implicit future trends and needs, and delivers clear UX strategies and actions. Our new Senior UX Researcher will help us deliver these user experiences - turning a variety of insights and early signals into impactful business opportunities and delightful customer experiences. In this team, speculative mindsets and methods are applied to probe future user unknowns.
You will help expand our Insights team focusing on Vehicle-related experiences such as physical spaces, digital interfaces, and smart systems.
What you will do
As a Senior UX Researcher at Volvo Cars, you will be executing a broad variety of experience design research to identify human behaviour, needs, and wants to inform the user experience direction for Volvo customers around the world.
You will conduct all aspects of UX Research, from research design and methodology selection to crafting findings that guide and inform User Experience Designers within your team as well as defining and communication strategies and actions. Additionally, you will:
* Help inform concept development with product knowledge
* Identify risks and problems
* Lead human-centered design research workshops and other co-creative methods and collaborations
* Craft detailed research findings into simple, easy to understand insights presentations to drive business.
* Initiate and build end-to-end experience design research approaches
* Identify primary as well as secondary sources of insight to identify differences across different markets and cultures and user segments

Who you are
To succeed in the role, we believe that you have been performing UX Research for several years for large and complex consumer-focused companies that produce physical and digital products.
You understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented product experiences. You have a people-focused design and research mentality and are constantly looking to hone your skills.
You have experience both running quick studies and analyses as well as initiating and building from scratch comprehensive research design strategies and selecting from a wide range of UX research methodologies best suited to arriving at actionable insights and identifying opportunities and risks.
You are able to identify and address issues with ease and have experience proposing possible solutions.
You have excellent—even inspirational--written and verbal communication and presentation skills and have led research workshops and co-creation with diverse stakeholders that elevate empathy for the user.
You have excellent collaboration skills and are able to drive co-creation and partnership with a variety of teams across Volvo Cars to bring consumer insights, and qualitative and quantitative research together.
It is a bonus if you have an understanding of cars and curiosity for future vehicles for mobility. We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge of Chinese and Chinese markets and sources of data.
* You should also have a portfolio showcasing your research skills in several projects.
