Senior UX/UI System Engineer – Usability and Interaction Design

How will you make an impact?
Would you like to contribute to world class allergy solutions and work with innovative systems? In this role you will get the chance to help our customers around the world in their work to diagnose allergy and autoimmune diseases.
As a Senior UX/UI System Engineer you will get the opportunity to work directly in the "Center Of Excellence" of the world class analyzers and be part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific’s, ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD) team.
In this role you would have a change to take a lead in usability and interaction design for the Phadia instruments. The role is new and you would have the opportunity to develop processes and ways of working for this area.
The System Design team is responsible for understanding the customer/marketing requirements and break these requirements down to system requirements. The team works side-by-side with other sections as hardware, software, and verification teams to set the right level of requirements. In addition, the group is responsible for risk management, product life cycle plans, and product development processes. The section consists of 10 team members in total, an innovative multi-disciplinary team with good collaboration.

What will you do?
You will be working with the development and maintenance of our Phadia instruments and software, where your work will be based on the users' requirements. Software-wise you will mainly work in the C# and .NET environment.
You will get the opportunity to work closely with the marketing department, and look at the developing of our instrument systems and software, focusing on the full product life cycle, from new products to improving current products.
You will be responsible for developing our internal processes, methods, and tools related to usability and interaction design, ensuring the increasing demands from our customers and regulatory requirements.
How will you get there?
Experience of leading the creation of internal processes, tools, and ways of working related to the usability and interaction design of instruments and systems
Experience of working cross-functionally with questions related to usability and interaction design, especially with marketing function
Experience working with the development of instrument systems and controlling software
Experience of creation of specifications related to demands from customers and internal stakeholders
Master's degree in IT, electronics, or technical physics or equal
Writing and updating technical documentation related to usability
Structured and organized team player with good interpersonal skills
Good communication skills (both written and spoken)
Swedish and English as working language
To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in leading work and smaller projects related to development and usability. We work in a heavily regulated industry; it is, therefore, important that you are structured and good at documenting your work.
We are a large, international organization, so it's essential that you are comfortable working cross-functionally in a matrix environment and are comfortable in a regularly changing environment.
As a person, you should be someone who takes the initiative, works in a structured and independent manner, but is also a strong communicator and team-player, as much of your work will be carried out in teams.
