Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What’s in it for you?
Would you like to be part of an exciting journey towards improving the driving and riding experience of our cars using actively controlled chassis systems? Then the role as Senior Vehicle Dynamics Test Engineer in the Driving Dynamics Functions team at our Personal Driving Experience Centre at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg is the place for you to prosper.

At the Personal Driving Experience Centre within Product Creation at Volvo Cars we ensure that our attributes Driving Dynamics and Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Volvo Cars stand in front of a great opportunity to enhance how active systems co-exist in an efficient way for an ultimate ride, handling and steering experience – whether with a human or autonomous driver.

The Driving Dynamics Functions team design and tune active chassis control systems to dynamically optimize ride and handling. Energy efficiency is continuously monitored and controlled by affecting aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance, critical for all future battery vehicles. Together we deliver a world class experience for our customers.

What you’ll do
As Senior Vehicle Dynamics Test Engineer you will support the development of control functions, system tuning and hardware integration. You will work in all project phases, from advanced engineering to production start. Our dynamic driving simulator, offline simulation and physical cars are all important tools used by our team and your involvement will be appreciated throughout. Physical cars will be your primary tool for tuning attribute performance of components and systems. You should enjoy traveling since some of the work is performed at proving grounds in north of Sweden, Germany, UK and Spain. You will take part in benchmark of existing solutions and get the chance to follow the latest research.

You and your skills
We believe you have a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, engineering physics or similar. You have at least 3 years of experience from vehicle dynamics chassis tuning in car. We see it very positively if you also have experience of working with active control systems, either in car or in hardware in-the-loop test rigs.

On a personal level, you are customer focused, with an innovation drive and a self-leadership that enable you to implement new methods and solutions. You have good interpersonal skills, thrive from teamwork and have the ability to build trust. You are a great communicator, used to work cross functional, you build relations and persuade when needed. You have a great analytical capability and are eager to consistently learn.
